यो गाढा रातो रङको सानो लहरो उष्ण क्षेत्रमा पाइन्छ । यसको पात ३-४ अगुल लामो जामुनको पत्तासमान हुन्छ । यसको पात कोट्याउँदा दूध निस्कन्छ । सेतो फुल्ने र फल फुटेपछि रुई निक्लने, जराको बोका रातो भित्र टेढोमेढो गोलो सुगन्धित कन्द हुन्छ । अर्को किसिमको कन्दको बोक्रा कालो पनि भेटिन्छ । मधुर, शुक्रजनक, क्षुधावर्द्धक, मूत्रविरेचक, धातु परिवर्तक, पारा बन्धनकारी, बलकारक र रक्तशोधक मानिन्छ । यसमा जीवन विनिमय क्रियालाई उत्तेजना दिने धर्म अति मूल्यवान् हुन्छ । मूत्रपिण्ड सुन्निएको, पत्थरी, मूत्रावरोध, अर्श, श्वेत प्रदर र रक्तप्रदर, समस्त रक्तविकार, मासिक धर्मको घटीबढी, शारीरिक कमजोरी, पित्तजन्य गर्मी रोग, बालबालिकाको आन्द्रा सुक्ने रोग आदिमा अति उपयोगी हुन्छ । यसको पात / डाँठ र जरा चुस्नाले छिटो फाइदा गराउँछ । स्वरस / चूर्ण / काँढापानी ३-५ पटक दिनहुँ सेवन गरी धेरै रोग र समस्याहरूबाट लाभ लिन सकिन्छ ।
