अदुवालाई गाई-गहुँत अथवा त्रिफला पानीमा बफाएर सुकाइएको गठानलाई सुठो भनिन्छ । पानीमा पकाएर वा आगोमा डढाएर सुठो बनाउने चलनको भण्डाफोर गर्नुपर्छ । राम्रो काम नदिनेलाई प्रयोग गर्नु पाप । यसकारण यथाशक्य असुरो या हर्रोको पानीमाथि डण्डीमा पोको पारी अदुवालाई ढक्कनले छोपी २-३ घण्टा बाफिएपछि घाममा सुकाई सफा ठाउँमा भण्डारण गर्नुपर्छ । उमेर पुगेको परिपक्क अदुवा मङ्सिर पौषमा खनेर निकाल्नुपर्छ । स्वस्थ र निरोगी अदुवालाई छानेर धोई विशेष गुणकारी पार्नुपर्छ । ५० रुपियाँ प्रति कि.ग्रा.मा होइन, यसलाई हजारमा अमृत सुठो बेच्नुपर्छ । गतिशील उपचारमा विश्वका सबैलाई काम लाग्नुपर्छ । घरेलु मसलाका रूपमा ताजा पाउँदा अदुवा पिसेर नपाउँदा सुठो धूलो दालतरकारीमा राखी स्वादिष्ठ बनाउनुपर्छ । आयुर्वेदिक मतानुसार सुठो पाचक, रुचिकारक, आमवातनाशक, उष्णवीर्य- कफवातनाशक, दीपन, उत्तेजक र कटु रसले युक्त मानिन्छ । यसमा अग्नितत्त्व प्रधान भएकाले जलांशलाई शोषण गर्छ । आयुर्वेदमा बनाउने हजारौँ औषधीय योगमा सुठोको सम्मिश्रण हुन्छ । त्रिकुटामा सोठ, पिपला र मरिचसमान भाग मिसाएर कफनाशक धूलो प्रयोग गरिन्छ । श्लीपदमा (हात्तीपाइले) गौमूत्र र सुठो, मूत्रकृच्छ्रमा सुठो र गाइखुरे, आमवातमा ठूलो गाइखुरे र सुठो, मस्तकशूलमा बाखीदूध र सुठो, मन्दअग्निमा गुड र सुठो, बच्छनागको विषमा र पिनासमा मह र सुठो, फोक्सो सुन्निएकोमा सुठो गतिशील चुस्नाले व्यापक फाइदा गर्छ । टन्सिल, गल-घाटी दुखाइ, शीतज्वर, अग्निमन्द, निम्नरक्तचापमा पनि सुठोले हित नै गर्छ। यसले वातसंस्थान, उदर, मूत्रपिण्ड, हृदय, रक्तमा अनुकूल प्रभाव पार्छ र ठन्डाको अव्यवस्थित विकृतिलाई दूर गर्दछ । मात्रा : १-२ ग्राम धूलो/लेदो, काँढापानी १/१ गिलास, भस्म : १-२ ग्राम, अर्क : १०- २० ग्राम, अत्तर १-३ थोपा ३-५ पटक ।
