यो उष्ण तथा समशीतोष्ण जलवायुमा राम्रो उत्पादन हुन्छ । यो ४०-५० फिट अग्लो, भाले खजुरको फूल सेतो र पोथीको फूल हल्का हरियो हुन्छ । यसको जराले दाँत दुखेको, हल्लिएको ठीक गर्छ । यसको चोप र स्वरसले रक्तस्राव, धातुरोग, पेटको घाउ, पेट पोल्ने - जलन इत्यादि सन्चो पार्छ । यो फल अति गुलियो र मीठो हुन्छ । यसले सन्ताप र पित्तलाई शान्त पार्छ, बल-वीर्य बढाउँछ, लडेको चोटपटकमा छिटो फाइदा दिन्छ। यसमा प्रशस्त क्याल्सियम, भिटामिन, प्रोटिन आदि हुन्छ । मात्रा : ५-१० ग्राम ३-५ पटक ।

    नेपालको तराई र भित्री मधेशका भूभागहरूमा सजिलै पाइने मधुखर्जुरी केवल एउटा स्वादिलो फल मात्र नभई यो एक बहुउपयोगी औषधि पनि हो। यसलाई वैज्ञानिक नाम Phoenix sylvestris ले चिनिन्छ। स्वास्थ्यवर्धक गुणहरूले भरिपूर्ण यो वनस्पतिले मानव शरीरलाई प्राकृतिक रूपमै बल र ऊर्जा प्रदान गर्दछ।

    परिचय

    मधुखर्जुरी, जसलाई स्थानीय भाषामा जंगली खजुर वा गुलियो खजुर पनि भनिन्छ, ताड प्रजातिको एक रूख हो। यो रुख मध्यम आकारको हुन्छ र यसको फल अत्यन्तै गुलियो र स्वादिलो हुन्छ। परापूर्वकालदेखि नै यसलाई आयुर्वेदिक उपचार र शक्तिबर्धक टनिकको रूपमा प्रयोग गरिँदै आएको छ। यो वनस्पति विशेषगरी यसको चोप (Sap) र फलका लागि प्रख्यात छ।

    मधुखर्जुरी मुख्यतया दक्षिण एसियाली देशहरूमा पाइन्छ।

    नेपाल: नेपालको तराई क्षेत्र, तल्लो पहाडी भेग र नदीका किनारहरूमा यो प्रशस्त मात्रामा पाइन्छ। विशेषगरी लुम्बिनी, मधेश र कोशी प्रदेशका समथर भूभाग यसका लागि उपयुक्त मानिन्छन्।

    अन्य देशहरू: भारत, पाकिस्तान, बंगलादेश र म्यानमार जस्ता देशहरूमा यो व्यावसायिक रूपमा पनि लगाइने गरिन्छ। भारतको पश्चिम बंगाल र बंगलादेशमा यसको रसबाट 'गुँड' (सख्खर) बनाउने ठूलो उद्योग नै रहेको छ।

     

    भौतिक गुणहरू

    मधुखर्जुरीको रूख र फलका केही विशिष्ट भौतिक विशेषताहरू छन्:

    उचाई: यो रूख साधारणतया ४० देखि ५० फिटसम्म अग्लो हुन्छ।

    काण्ड र पात: यसको काण्ड खस्रो र पातहरू लामो, कडा तथा तिखा हुन्छन्।

     

    फूल: यसमा भाले र पोथी फूलहरू फरक-फरक हुन्छन्। भाले खजुरको फूल सेतो रङको हुन्छ भने पोथीको फूल हल्का हरियो रङको देखिन्छ।

    फल: यसको फल सुरुमा हरियो, पाक्दा पहेंलो वा सुन्तला रङको र पूर्ण रूपमा पाक्दा गाढा बैजनी वा कालो रङको हुन्छ।

     

    फाइदा

    मधुखर्जुरी स्वास्थ्यका लागि एक 'सुपरफुड' नै हो। यसका प्रमुख फाइदाहरू यस प्रकार छन्:

    पोषणयुक्त: यसमा प्रशस्त मात्रामा क्याल्सियम, भिटामिन, प्रोटिन र आइरन पाइन्छ, जसले शरीरको हड्डी मजबुत बनाउन र रगतको कमी (एनिमिया) हटाउन मद्दत गर्छ।

    दाँतको समस्या: यसको जराको प्रयोगले दाँत दुख्ने र दाँत हल्लिने समस्यामा निकै राहत दिन्छ।

    पाचन र पेटको घाउ: यसको चोप र स्वरसले पेटको घाउ (अल्सर), पेट पोल्ने र जलन हुने समस्यालाई निकै छिटो निको पार्छ।

    रक्तस्राव रोक्न: शरीरको कुनै भागबाट अनावश्यक रक्तस्राव भइरहेको छ भने यसको प्रयोग प्रभावकारी मानिन्छ।

    शक्ति र वीर्यवर्धक: यसले शरीरको बल र वीर्य बढाउन मद्दत गर्छ। यो पुरुषहरूको प्रजनन स्वास्थ्यका लागि पनि लाभदायक छ।

    पित्त र सन्ताप शान्त पार्ने: यसको शीतल गुणले शरीरको गर्मी (पित्त) लाई शान्त पार्छ र मानसिक तनाव वा सन्ताप कम गर्न सहयोग गर्छ।

    चोटपटकमा राहत: लडेको वा ठोकिएको चोटपटकमा यसको सेवनले घाउ भर्न र दुखाइ कम गर्न मद्दत पुर्‍याउँछ।

     

    प्रयोग विधि

    मधुखर्जुरीको फल, जरा र रसलाई विभिन्न तरिकाले प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ:

    फलको सेवन: यसको फललाई सिधै खान सकिन्छ। दिनमा ५ देखि १० ग्रामको मात्रामा ३ देखि ५ पटकसम्म खानु स्वास्थ्यका लागि राम्रो मानिन्छ।

    जराको प्रयोग: दाँतको समस्याका लागि यसको जरालाई सफा गरेर चपाउने वा काँढा बनाएर कुल्ला गर्ने गरिन्छ।

    स्वरस र चोप: पेटको समस्या वा रक्तस्राव रोक्न यसको ताजा चोप वा पातको स्वरस चिकित्सकको सल्लाह अनुसार थोरै मात्रामा सेवन गर्न सकिन्छ।

    खजुरको सख्खर: यसको रसलाई पकाएर बनाइएको प्राकृतिक चिनी वा सख्खर चिया वा मिठाईमा प्रयोग गर्दा चिनीको स्वस्थ विकल्प हुन्छ।

    खेती, उत्पादन र संरक्षण

    यो वनस्पति उष्ण तथा समशीतोष्ण जलवायुमा राम्रोसँग फस्टाउँछ।

    खेती: यसलाई बीउबाट सजिलै उमार्न सकिन्छ। यसलाई धेरै सिँचाइको आवश्यकता पर्दैन, त्यसैले सुख्खा क्षेत्रमा पनि यसको खेती सम्भव छ।

    उत्पादन: एउटा वयस्क रूखले वर्षौंसम्म फल र रस दिइरहन्छ। यसको रस संकलन गर्ने प्रक्रिया अलि चुनौतीपूर्ण भए पनि यो आर्थिक रूपमा निकै लाभदायक हुन्छ।

    संरक्षण: नेपालमा वन विनाश र सहरीकरणका कारण यस्ता बहुगुणी रूखहरू नासिँदै गएका छन्। खाली जमिन, नदी किनार र खेतका कान्लाहरूमा यसको वृक्षारोपण गरी संरक्षण गर्नु आवश्यक छ।

    Introduction
