यो २-३ फिट अग्लो, सेतो कोदोझैँ फुल्ने, सर्वत्र पाइन्छ । पशुहरूका लागि पौष्टिक घाँसले राम्रो दूध-घ्यू बन्छ। यसको डाँठ र फूलले गर्मी फाल्छ, पित्तनाश गर्छ, शीतलता दिन्छ, दिमागलाई शक्ति प्रदान गर्छ । यसको गेडाले पौष्टिकता दिन्छ, जोर्नी दुख्ने, मधुमेह, हाडको रोग इत्यादि सन्चो गर्छ । यो घाँसको नलमा गुलियो हुन्छ जो शक्तिदायक मानिन्छ । मात्रा : ३-५ ग्राम २-३ पटक । यसको खोले / रोटी / भात खाएर बल बढाउन सकिन्छ ।

    कोदे बन्सो (Eleusine indica) एक प्रकारको सामान्य घाँस हो जुन नेपालका विभिन्न भू-भागमा पाइन्छ। यो घाँस २-३ फिट अग्लो हुने गर्छ र यसको फुल सेतो कोदाको जस्तै देखिन्छ। यसलाई अंग्रेजीमा "Goosegrass" वा "Wiregrass" भनिन्छ। यो घाँस नेपालका तराई, पहाड र हिमाली क्षेत्रमा पनि पाइन्छ। यसको विशेषताले गर्दा यसलाई पशुपालन र आयुर्वेदिक औषधीका रूपमा प्रयोग गरिन्छ।

    कोदे बन्सो नेपालभरि सजिलै पाइने एक सामान्य घाँस हो। यो तराईदेखि हिमाली क्षेत्रसम्म, खेतबारी, बाटो छेउ, र ओझेलमा उम्रिन्छ। नेपाल बाहेक यो भारत, चीन, बंगलादेश, थाइल्याण्ड, अफ्रिका, अमेरिका, र अन्य धेरै देशहरूमा पनि पाइन्छ। यो विश्वभरि उष्ण र समशीतोष्ण जलवायु भएका क्षेत्रहरूमा फैलिएको छ।

    शारीरिक गुणहरू

    कोदे बन्सोको डाँठ पातला र लामा हुन्छ भने यसको फूल सेतो र कोदाको फूलजस्तै देखिन्छ। यसको जरा पनि औषधीय गुणले भरिपूर्ण हुन्छ। यसको नल (डाँठ) मा गुलियो स्वाद हुन्छ, जसले गर्दा यसलाई पशुहरूले मन पराउँछन्। यसको बीउ सानो र गोलाकार हुन्छ।

    कोदे बन्सोमा धेरै प्रकारका औषधीय गुणहरू पाइन्छन्, जसमा प्रमुख निम्नलिखित छन्:

    Kode Banso, known in English as Eleusine indica (goosegrass, wiregrass, yard-grass), is a common annual grass reaching 2–3ft (60–90cm). It produces white millet-like flowers and thrives almost everywhere—in lawns, roadsides, fields, and disturbed lands Despite often being labeled a weed, it has deep roots in herbal medicine and livestock fodder.

    • Nepal: Grows abundantly throughout all regions—from Terai to hills—as “केDOM कODEबन्सो,” especially during warmer months, often overlooked yet widespread.
