यो लहरो सर्वत्र पाइन्छ । यसको बोक्रा पहेँलो र रातो हुन्छ, फूल सेतो- पहेँलो झुप्पामा, पात ४-५ अङ्गुल लामो डेढ अङ्गुल चौडा फल १ अङ्गुल लामो च्याप्टो बीज चिफ्लो न्यालयुक्त हुन्छ । औषधीय उपयोग : यसले मधुमेह, प्रदर, ज्वर, बिग्रेको घाउ, छालाका समस्या आदि सन्चो पार्छ र शक्ति प्रदान गर्छ । बालकको दाँत आउँदा हुने पीडा र रक्तस्राव रोक्छ । मात्रा : ५ ग्राम लेदो / चूर्ण, १ माना काँढापानी, ३०-५० ग्राम अर्क ३-५ पटक ।

    नेपालको प्राकृतिक सम्पदाको रूपमा रहेका विभिन्न जडीबुटीहरूमध्ये तिलपापडा एक महत्त्वपूर्ण वनस्पति हो। यसलाई स्थानीय भाषामा गारबीज पनि भनिन्छ भने वैज्ञानिक जगतमा यसलाई Entada scandens (वा Entada rheedii) को नामले चिनिन्छ। यो वनस्पति विशेषगरी यसको ठुलो आकारको फल र बिउका लागि प्रख्यात छ।

     

    परिचय

    तिलपापडा एक प्रकारको काष्ठमय लहरे वनस्पति हो। यो धेरै वर्षसम्म बाँचिरहने र ठुला रुखहरूलाई ओगटेर फैलिने खालको हुन्छ। यसको लहरा निकै बलियो र मोटो हुन्छ। हिन्दू धर्म र संस्कृतिमा यसको बिउलाई पवित्र मानिने र कतिपय ठाउँमा मालाको रूपमा पनि प्रयोग गर्ने गरिन्छ। यसको लहराको बोक्रा र बिउ दुवै औषधीय गुणले भरिपूर्ण हुन्छन्।

     

    नेपाल र अन्य देशहरूमा उपलब्धता

    यो वनस्पति मुख्यतया उष्ण र उपोष्ण कटिबन्धीय (Tropical and Subtropical) क्षेत्रहरूमा पाइन्छ।

    नेपालमा: यो नेपालको तराई, भावर र भित्री मधेशका जङ्गलहरूमा प्रशस्त मात्रामा पाइन्छ। खासगरी ओसिलो खोल्साहरू र नदी किनारका जङ्गलमा यो लहरा फैलिएको देख्न सकिन्छ।

    विश्वमा: यो भारत, श्रीलङ्का, म्यानमार, थाइल्याण्ड र भियतनाम जस्ता दक्षिण-पूर्वी एसियाली देशहरूमा पनि पाइन्छ। साथै, अफ्रिका र अष्ट्रेलियाका केही भागहरूमा पनि यसको उपस्थिति रहेको छ।

     

    भौतिक गुणहरू

    तिलपापडालाई यसका विशिष्ट भौतिक विशेषताहरूबाट सजिलै चिन्न सकिन्छ:

    लहरा र बोक्रा: यसको लहरा निकै लामो र काष्ठमय हुन्छ। यसको बोक्रा बाहिरबाट हेर्दा पहेँलो र भित्री भाग रातो रङ्गको हुन्छ।

    पात: यसका पातहरू ४ देखि ५ अङ्गुल लामा र झण्डै डेढ अङ्गुल चौडा हुन्छन्। पातको बनावट चिल्लो र हरियो हुन्छ।

    फूल: यसको फूल सेतो-पहेँलो रङ्गको हुन्छ र यो झुप्पामा फुल्छ। फूलको बास्ना हल्का र मनमोहक हुन्छ।

    फल र बिउ: यसको फल (कोसा) निकै लामो, च्याप्टो र कडा हुन्छ। एउटै कोसा १ मिटरभन्दा लामो पनि हुन सक्छ। यसभित्र रहने बिउहरू गोलाकार, च्याप्टा र निकै कडा हुन्छन्। बिउको बाहिरी भाग चिप्लो र टल्कने खालको हुन्छ।

     

    फाइदा

    आयुर्वेदमा तिलपापडालाई विभिन्न रोग निको पार्ने वनस्पतिको रूपमा व्याख्या गरिएको छ। यसका प्रमुख फाइदाहरू यस प्रकार छन्:

    मधुमेह (Diabetes) नियन्त्रण: यसको प्रयोगले रगतमा चिनीको मात्रा सन्तुलनमा राख्न मद्दत पुर्‍याउँछ।

    प्रदर रोग: महिलाहरूमा हुने सेतो पानी बग्ने (Leucorrhoea) समस्या वा प्रदर रोगमा यो निकै लाभकारी छ।

    छालाको समस्या: बिग्रेको घाउ, खटिरा र छालाका विभिन्न संक्रमणहरूमा यसको लेदो लगाउँदा सन्चो हुन्छ।

    ज्वरो: पुरानो ज्वरो वा विषम ज्वरो कम गर्न यसको काँढापानी लाभदायक मानिन्छ।

    शारीरिक शक्ति: यसले शरीरलाई तागत दिने र कमजोरी हटाउने काम गर्छ।

    बालबालिकाको दाँत आउँदा हुने पीडा: साना बालबालिकाहरूको दाँत पलाउने समयमा हुने गिजाको दुखाइ र असजिलोपन कम गर्न यसको प्रयोग गरिन्छ।

    रक्तस्राव रोक्न: शरीरको कुनै भागबाट अनावश्यक रगत बगिरहेको छ भने यसले रक्तस्तम्भकको रूपमा कार्य गर्छ।

     

    प्रयोग विधि

    तिलपापडालाई रोग र आवश्यकता अनुसार विभिन्न तरिकाले प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ:

    लेदो वा चूर्ण: बिउको गुदी वा बोक्राको धुलो (चूर्ण) ५ ग्रामको मात्रामा सेवन गर्न सकिन्छ।

    काँढापानी (Decoction): झण्डै १ माना पानीमा यसको औषधीय भाग उमालेर तयार पारिएको काँढा दिनको २-३ पटक पिउन सकिन्छ।

    अर्क: यसको ३० देखि ५० ग्राम अर्कलाई दिनमा ३ देखि ५ पटकसम्म आवश्यकता अनुसार प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ।

    बाह्य प्रयोग: छालाको घाउ वा दाँतको पीडामा यसको लेदोलाई सम्बन्धित ठाउँमा लगाउन सकिन्छ।

    नोट: कुनै पनि जडीबुटीको प्रयोग गर्नुअघि आयुर्वेदिक चिकित्सक वा विज्ञको सल्लाह लिनु अनिवार्य हुन्छ।

     

    खेती, उत्पादन र संरक्षण

    तिलपापडा एक जंगली वनस्पति भए तापनि यसको बढ्दो मागका कारण अहिले यसको व्यावसायिक खेती र संरक्षणको आवश्यकता महसुस गरिएको छ।

    खेती: यसको खेती बिउबाट गर्न सकिन्छ। ओसिलो र पानी नजम्ने दोमट माटो यसका लागि उपयुक्त हुन्छ। यसलाई बढ्नका लागि ठुला रुख वा थाँक्राको आवश्यकता पर्दछ।

    उत्पादन: यसको लहरा रोपेको केही वर्षपछि मात्र फल दिन थाल्छ। संकलन गर्दा लहरालाई हानि नपुर्‍याई पाकेका कोसाहरू मात्र टिप्नुपर्छ।

    संरक्षण: वन विनाश र अत्यधिक संकलनका कारण यो दुर्लभ हुँदै गएको छ। यसको प्राकृतिक बासस्थान जोगाउन र दिगो संकलन विधिको प्रयोग गर्न जरुरी छ।
