यो लेकलेकमा गनगने ४-५ मिटर अग्लो मझौला रूख जेष्ठ आषाढमा प्रशस्त पाइन्छ। सेतो फुल्छ, यसको गेडा हरियो, रातो र कालो हुँदै असोज - कार्तिकतिर पाक्छ । पाकेपछि यसको गेडा खाने प्रचलन छ, भोक प्यासमा यसको गेडा खाँदा शीतल, मीठो हुन्छ । थोरै खाँदा मात मादक पदार्थ समान लाग्दैन । मात्रा : ३-५ ग्राम लेदो/चूर्ण, काँढापानी १-१ माना, अर्क : २०-३० ग्राम ३-५ पटक ।

नेपालको पहाडी र लेकाली भेग प्राकृतिक सम्पदाले भरिपूर्ण छ। यहाँ यस्ता धेरै वनस्पतिहरू पाइन्छन्, जसको बारेमा धेरैलाई जानकारी नहुन सक्छ। तीमध्ये एक हो— गनगने। यसलाई कतै पुट्के त कतै अन्य स्थानीय नामले पनि चिनिन्छ। वैज्ञानिक जगतमा Viburnum erubescens नामले चिनिने यो वनस्पति स्वास्थ्य र स्वाद दुवैका दृष्टिकोणले महत्त्वपूर्ण छ।

    परिचय

    गनगने एक बुट्यान वर्गको मझौला आकारको रूख हो। यो सामान्यतया ४ देखि ५ मिटर सम्म अग्लो हुन्छ। विशेषगरी जेठ र असार महिनामा यो वनस्पति जताततै देख्न सकिन्छ। यसको हाँगाहरूमा झुप्पा परेर सेता फूलहरू फुल्छन्, जसले वनलाई आकर्षक बनाउँछ। यसको फल स्वास्थ्यवर्धक हुनुका साथै स्थानीय बासिन्दाहरू माझ निकै लोकप्रिय छ।

    गनगने मुख्यतया हिमालय क्षेत्रको रैथाने वनस्पति हो।

    नेपाल: नेपालमा यो १५०० देखि ३००० मिटरको उचाइमा पर्ने मध्यपहाडी र लेकाली भेगमा प्रशस्त पाइन्छ। विशेषगरी महाभारत शृङ्खलाका ओसिलो र अलि छाया पर्ने ठाउँहरूमा यो फस्टाउँछ।

    अन्य देश: नेपाल बाहेक यो भारतको हिमाली क्षेत्र (उत्तराखण्ड, हिमाचल), भुटान, म्यानमार र चीनको दक्षिण-पश्चिमी भागमा पनि पाइन्छ।

    यस वनस्पतिका केही विशिष्ट भौतिक गुणहरू निम्न छन्:

    आकार: यो ४-५ मिटर अग्लो हुने र धेरै हाँगाबिँगा पलाउने रूख हो।

    पात: यसका पातहरू अलि लाम्चा र किनारामा हल्का दाँती परेका हुन्छन्।

    फूल: जेठ-असारमा यसमा सेता र सुगन्धित फूलहरू झुप्पामा फुल्छन्।

    फल: यसको गेडा (फल) सुरुमा हरियो हुन्छ, त्यसपछि रातो र अन्तमा असोज-कात्तिकतिर पाकेपछि कालो रङ्गको हुन्छ।

    स्वाद: पाकेको गेडा खानमा निकै मीठो र शीतल हुन्छ।

    फाइदा

    गनगनेको प्रयोग परम्परागत रूपमा विभिन्न फाइदाका लागि गरिँदै आएको छ:

    १. शीतलता प्रदान गर्ने: हिँडडुल गर्दा वा काम गर्दा लाग्ने भोक र प्यासमा यसको फल खाँदा शरीरलाई तुरुन्तै शीतलता र ऊर्जा मिल्छ।

    २. मानसिक शान्ति: थोरै मात्रामा यसको सेवन गर्दा यसले मस्तिष्कलाई शान्त पार्छ। यो हल्का मादक पदार्थ जस्तो गुणयुक्त भए पनि यसले मद्यपानले जस्तो नकारात्मक असर गर्दैन।

    लेदो वा चूर्ण: आयुर्वेदिक उपचारका लागि यसको लेदो वा चूर्ण ३ देखि ५ ग्रामसम्म प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ।

    काँढापानी: यसको बोक्रा वा पातलाई उमालेर बनाइएको काँढापानी १-१ मानाका दरले बिहान-बेलुका सेवन गर्न सकिन्छ।

    अर्क: यसको अर्क २० देखि ३० ग्रामको मात्रामा दिनको ३ देखि ५ पटकसम्म खान सकिन्छ।

    नोट: औषधिको रूपमा प्रयोग गर्दा जडीबुटी विज्ञ वा स्थानीय वैद्यको सल्लाह लिनु बुद्धिमानी हुन्छ।

    खेती: यसलाई ओसिलो र पानी नजम्ने ढिस्को वा पाखो बारीमा लगाउन सकिन्छ। यसको प्रसारण बीउ वा कलमी दुवै माध्यमबाट गर्न सकिन्छ।

    उत्पादन: असोज र कात्तिक महिना यसको फल सङ्कलन गर्ने मुख्य समय हो। फल पाकेपछि यसलाई सुरक्षित रूपमा टिपेर बजारमा पुर्‍याउन सकिन्छ।

    संरक्षण: हालका वर्षहरूमा वन फँडानी र डढेलोका कारण यस्ता महत्त्वपूर्ण जडीबुटीहरू सङ्कटमा पर्दै गएका छन्। स्थानीय स्तरमा यसको महत्त्व बुझाएर वन संरक्षण गर्नु अति आवश्यक छ।
