यो रूख गर्मी क्षेत्रका जङ्गलमा भेटिन्छ । पुस-माघमा सेतो फुल्ने गाँडे रुद्राक्ष विभिन्न मुखेमा ठूलाठूला पाइन्छन् । यसको फल बोक्राले रक्तविकारमा फाइदा दिन्छ । काँढापानी बनाएर पिउँदा विषदोष अर्क : २०- पनि नाश गर्छ । भस्मले कफ-खोकीमा लाभ पुऱ्याउँछ । मात्रा : ३-५ ग्राम, भस्म : १-२ ग्राम, ३० ग्राम २-३ पटक ।

    परिचय

    गण्ड रुद्राक्ष, जसको वैज्ञानिक नाम Elaeocarpus tuberculatus हो, यो 'Elaeocarpaceae' परिवार अन्तर्गत पर्ने एक ठूलो सदावहार रूख हो। सामान्य रुद्राक्षको तुलनामा यसको दाना (फल) ठूलो, केही थेप्चो र बाहिरी सतहमा अलि बढी खस्रो गाँठाहरू जस्तो देखिने हुनाले यसलाई 'गण्ड' वा 'गाँडे' रुद्राक्ष भनिएको हो। यो वृक्ष विशेषगरी गर्मी र आर्द्र हावापानी भएको क्षेत्रमा फस्टाउँछ। आध्यात्मिक रूपमा यसलाई भगवान शिवको आँसुबाट उत्पत्ति भएको विश्वास गरिने हुनाले यसलाई पवित्र मानिन्छ।

    गण्ड रुद्राक्ष मुख्यतया दक्षिण र दक्षिण-पूर्वी एसियाका देशहरूमा पाइन्छ।

    नेपाल: नेपालमा यो विशेषगरी तराई, भित्री मधेस र मध्य पहाडी क्षेत्रका ओसिलो जङ्गलहरूमा पाइन्छ। संखुवासभा, भोजपुर र धनकुटा जस्ता जिल्लाहरू रुद्राक्षका लागि प्रसिद्ध भए पनि गण्ड रुद्राक्ष भने अलि बढी गर्मी हुने नदी किनार र जङ्गलहरूमा भेटिन्छ।

    अन्य देशहरू: यो भारत (विशेषगरी पश्चिम घाट र उत्तर-पूर्वी राज्यहरू), श्रीलंका, म्यानमार, थाइल्याण्ड र इन्डोनेसियाका घना जङ्गलहरूमा प्रशस्त मात्रामा पाइन्छ।

     

    भौतिक गुणहरू

    यस वृक्ष र फलका केही मुख्य भौतिक विशेषताहरू यस प्रकार छन्:

    रूख: यो निकै अग्लो हुन्छ, जसको उचाइ ८० देखि १०० फिटसम्म पुग्न सक्छ। यसको फेदमा ठूला-ठूला जराहरू (Buttress roots) फैलिएका हुन्छन्।

    फूल: पुस र माघ महिनामा यसमा आकर्षक सेता फूलहरू फुल्छन्। यी फूलहरू झुप्पामा झुन्डिएका हुन्छन् र निकै सुन्दर देखिन्छन्।

    फल (दाना): यसको फल अण्डाकार वा गोलो हुन्छ। फल पाकेपछि नीलो वा गाढा रङ्गको देखिन्छ। यस भित्रको गेडा (रुद्राक्ष) धेरै मुख भएको (Multi-faced) र आकारमा ठूलो हुन्छ।

    फाइदा

    गण्ड रुद्राक्ष केवल धार्मिक दृष्टिले मात्र नभई स्वास्थ्यको दृष्टिकोणले पनि अत्यन्तै लाभदायक छ। यसका प्रमुख फाइदाहरू यस प्रकार छन्:

    १. रक्तविकारमा सुधार: यसको फलको बोक्राले रगत सफा गर्न मद्दत गर्छ। रगतमा भएको अशुद्धता हटाउन यो अचूक औषधि मानिन्छ।

    २. विष दोषको निवारण: शरीरमा कुनै प्रकारको विषालु तत्वको असर भएमा वा 'विषदोष' भएमा यसको प्रयोगले राहत दिन्छ।

    ३. कफ र खोकीमा राहत: यसको भस्म (खरानी) को प्रयोग गर्नाले पुरानो खोकी र छातीमा जमेको कफ निकाल्न मद्दत पुग्छ।

    ४. मानसिक शान्ति: रुद्राक्ष धारण गर्नाले उच्च रक्तचाप नियन्त्रण हुने र मानसिक तनाव कम हुने जनविश्वास छ।

    ५. छालाको समस्या: यसको बोक्राको रस वा लेपले छाला सम्बन्धी रोगहरूमा निको पार्ने क्षमता राख्छ।

     

    प्रयोग विधि

    गण्ड रुद्राक्षलाई विभिन्न तरिकाले प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ:

    काँढापानी (Decoction): यसको फल वा बोक्रालाई पानीमा उमालेर 'काँढापानी' बनाइन्छ। यो पानी २० देखि ३० ग्रामको मात्रामा दिनको २-३ पटक पिउनाले विषदोष र रक्तविकार नाश हुन्छ।

    भस्मको प्रयोग: यसको दाना वा काठलाई जलाएर बनाइएको भस्म १ देखि २ ग्रामको मात्रामा महसँग मिसाएर खाँदा कफ र खोकीमा तुरुन्त लाभ मिल्छ।

    धुलो (Powder): सुकेको बोक्रा वा फलको धुलो ३ देखि ५ ग्राम सम्म तातो पानीसँग सेवन गर्न सकिन्छ।

    धारण गर्ने: आध्यात्मिक लाभका लागि यसलाई माला बनाएर घाँटीमा वा हातमा बाँध्न सकिन्छ।

     

    खेती, उत्पादन र संरक्षण

    गण्ड रुद्राक्षको व्यावसायिक खेती र संरक्षणका लागि निम्न कुरामा ध्यान दिनु आवश्यक छ:

    हावापानी: यसलाई उष्ण र उपोष्ण (Tropical and Subtropical) क्षेत्रको ओसिलो हावापानी उपयुक्त हुन्छ।

    प्रसारण: यसको प्रसारण मुख्यतया बीउबाट गरिन्छ। बीउ उम्रन केही समय लाग्ने हुनाले नर्सरीमा विशेष हेरचाह चाहिन्छ।

    वृक्षारोपण: बर्खायामको सुरुमा यसका बिरुवाहरू रोप्नु उपयुक्त हुन्छ। यसलाई धेरै पानीको आवश्यकता पर्ने हुनाले नदी किनार वा ओसिलो ठाउँ रोज्नुपर्छ।

    संरक्षण: जङ्गल फँडानी र जलवायु परिवर्तनका कारण यो प्रजाति बिस्तारै कम हुँदै गएको छ। यसको औषधीय महत्व बुझाएर स्थानीय स्तरमा वृक्षारोपणलाई प्रोत्साहन दिनु आवश्यक छ।

    Introduction
