    • Powder (Churna): The dried rhizome is ground into a fine powder. A typical dosage ranges from half to one teaspoon, taken with warm water or honey.
    • Decoction (Kadha): Boiling the rhizome slices in water yields a decoction consumed to alleviate digestive and respiratory ailments.
    • Essential Oil: Extracted through hydrodistillation, the oil is used in aromatherapy and as a topical application for its anti-inflammatory effects.
    • Paste: A paste made from fresh rhizome is applied externally to treat skin infections and inflammations.

    Harvesting and Preservation

Optimal harvesting occurs when the plant reaches maturity, typically after 8 to 10 months of growth. The rhizomes are carefully dug up, cleaned, and sliced. Drying is conducted in the shade to preserve essential oils and active compounds. Once dried, the rhizomes are stored in airtight containers in a cool, dry place to maintain their potency.
