यो गर्मी क्षेत्रमा पाइने सामान्य वृक्ष हो । यसको पात जोडिएको र पहेँलो फूल हुन्छ । यसको फल ३-५ अङ्गुल मोटो, गोलो, रुवादार, भित्र १ - २ बीज रहन्छ । यसको बोक्राले कफ र पित्तदोषलाई हटाउँछ, ज्वरलाई भगाउँछ रक्तविकारलाई शुद्ध गर्छ । यसको पात वमनकारक र उदरशूललाई कम गराउँछ । यसको फूल चर्मरोगहरूमा लाभदायक हुन्छ । यसको फल मीठो, पौष्टिक, आँतलाई सङ्कुचन गर्ने, घाउलाई भर्ने, पित्त प्रकोप हटाउने र मूत्रसम्बन्धी सिकायतमा उपयुक्त हुन्छ । मात्रा : ३-५ ग्राम २-३ पटक ।

    परिचय

    गन्धफला, जसलाई वैज्ञानिक रूपमा Aglaia odoratissima भनिन्छ, एक सदाबहार रुख हो। यो मुख्यतया मेलियासी (Meliaceae) परिवार अन्तर्गत पर्दछ। यो रुख आफ्नो विशेष सुगन्धका लागि परिचित छ, त्यसैले यसको नाम 'गन्धफला' राखिएको हो। यसका पातहरू गाढा हरिया र जोडिएका हुन्छन् भने यसमा साना, पहेँला र अत्यन्तै बास्नादार फूलहरू फुल्ने गर्दछन्। आयुर्वेदिक दृष्टिकोणले यसको बोक्रा, पात, फूल र फल सबैमा औषधीय गुणहरू पाइन्छन्।

    गन्धफला विशेषगरी दक्षिण र दक्षिण-पूर्वी एसियाका उष्णकटिबंधीय (Tropical) क्षेत्रहरूमा पाइन्छ।

    नेपालमा: यो नेपालको तराई र तल्लो पहाडी भेगका ओसिलो तथा गर्मी क्षेत्रहरूमा पाइन्छ। विशेष गरी चुरे शृङ्खला र वनजङ्गलहरूमा यो प्राकृतिक रूपमा हुर्कन्छ।

    अन्य देशहरूमा: भारत, श्रीलङ्का, म्यानमार, थाइल्याण्ड, इन्डोनेसिया र मलेसिया जस्ता देशहरूमा यो प्रशस्त मात्रामा पाइन्छ। यी देशहरूमा यसलाई कतै सजावटका लागि त कतै परम्परागत औषधिका लागि प्रयोग गरिन्छ।

     

    भौतिक गुणहरू

    गन्धफलाको रुख मध्यम आकारको हुन्छ। यसका मुख्य भौतिक विशेषताहरू यस प्रकार छन्:

    पात: यसका पातहरू संयुक्त (Compound) हुन्छन् र हेर्दा चिल्ला देखिन्छन्।

    फूल: यसमा साना, गोलाकार र पहेँला फूलहरू झुप्पामा फुल्छन्। यसको फूलको बास्ना टाढैसम्म फैलन्छ।

    फल: यसको फल ३ देखि ५ अङ्गुलसम्म मोटो र गोलो हुन्छ। फलको बाहिरी भाग हल्का रुवादार वा झुसयुक्त हुन्छ।

    बीउ: फलभित्र सामान्यतया १ देखि २ वटासम्म बीउहरू रहेका हुन्छन्।

     

    फाइदा

    गन्धफला स्वास्थ्यका लागि निकै लाभकारी मानिन्छ। यसका विभिन्न अङ्गहरूले शरीरका विभिन्न दोषहरूलाई सन्तुलनमा राख्न मद्दत गर्छन्:

    १. कफ र पित्तनाशक: यसको बोक्राको प्रयोगले शरीरमा बढेको कफ र पित्तदोषलाई सन्तुलनमा ल्याउँछ।

    २. ज्वरो र रगत शुद्धीकरण: यसले पुरानो ज्वरोलाई निको पार्न मद्दत गर्छ र रगतमा रहेका विकारहरूलाई हटाई रगत शुद्ध गर्छ।

    ३. पेटको समस्या: यसको पातले पेट दुख्ने (उदरशूल) समस्या कम गर्छ। साथै, यसमा वमनकारक (उल्टो गराउने) गुण हुने भएकाले विषाक्त पदार्थ निकाल्न पनि प्रयोग गरिन्छ।

    ४. चर्मरोगमा लाभ: यसको फूलको लेप वा प्रयोगले छालासम्बन्धी विभिन्न रोगहरूमा राहत दिन्छ।

    ५. घाउ र चोटपटक: यसको फलमा घाउ चाँडो भर्ने (Healing) गुण हुन्छ। यसले आँतलाई सङ्कुचन गर्ने र आन्तरिक घाउ निको पार्न सहयोग गर्छ।

    ६. मूत्रसम्बन्धी समस्या: पिसाब पोल्ने वा मूत्रमार्गका अन्य समस्याहरूमा यसको फलको सेवन अत्यन्तै उपयुक्त हुन्छ।

     

    प्रयोग विधि

    गन्धफलालाई औषधिको रूपमा प्रयोग गर्दा मात्रा र विधिको ख्याल गर्नुपर्छ:

    मात्रा: सामान्यतया यसको धुलो वा चूर्णलाई ३ देखि ५ ग्राम सम्म प्रयोग गर्न सकिन्छ।

    तरिका: यसलाई दिनमा २ देखि ३ पटकसम्म चिकित्सकको सल्लाह अनुसार सेवन गर्न सकिन्छ।

    बाली उपचार: छालाको समस्याका लागि फूल वा पातको लेप बनाएर प्रभावित स्थानमा लगाउन सकिन्छ।

    काँडा (Decoction): बोक्रालाई पानीमा उमालेर बनाएको काँडा ज्वरो र रगत शुद्धीकरणका लागि पिउन सकिन्छ।

    गन्धफला एक बहुमूल्य रुख भएकाले यसको व्यावसायिक खेती र संरक्षण आवश्यक छ:

    खेती: यसलाई ओसिलो, मलिलो माटो र गर्मी हावापानी भएको ठाउँमा सजिलै उमार्न सकिन्छ। यसको प्रचार बीउबाट गरिन्छ।

    उत्पादन: रुख रोपेको केही वर्षपछि यसले फूल र फल दिन थाल्छ। यसको काठ पनि बलियो हुने भएकाले फर्निचरका लागि प्रयोग हुन सक्छ।
